About the Web server
The Web server is a computer running a Web server software application that enables it to respond to requests received from browsers. Every Web server has an IP address and a domain name. For example, if you enter the URL, http://www.example.com/index.html in your browser, this sends a request to the server whose domain name is example.com. The server then fetches the page named index.html and sends it to your browser.
Web server management tasks include:
Viewing your Web server settings
Viewing your Web server log reports
Securing your domain using SSL Certification
Setting up protected directories on the server
Creating the groups for protected directories
Managing the users in protected directory groups
Accessing the Microsoft FrontPage administration interface (if enabled)
