Copying and moving directories

You can copy and move directories on your site from one directory to another by using the Clipboard Contents section of the File Manager. You can remove clipboard contents at any time.

To copy or move a directory:

  1. In the shortcuts area of the Home page, click Manage Files (File Manager section). The directory list is displayed.

  2. Drill down to the directory you want to copy or move.

  3. In the Name area of the Path form, locate the directory you want to copy or move, and select the check box next to it.

  4. In the Commands area of the Path form, click Add File(s) to Clipboard.

The File Manager displays the directory name in the Clipboard Contents area of the Path form.

  1. Drill down to the directory into which you want to copy or move the directory.

The directory window of the destination directory opens.

  1. In the Clipboard Contents area of the Path form, locate the name of the directory you want to move or copy and select the check box next to it.

  2. Do one of the following:

  3. To copy the directory to this destination directory, click Copy.

  4. To move the directory to this destination directory, click Move.

  5. Note: If the Move operation fails, File Manager compensates by making a copy of the directory in the destination directory; however, you must manually remove the directory from its original directory.

Removing contents from the Clipboard

To remove directories from the Clipboard:

  1. In the Clipboard Contents area of the Path form, select the check boxes of the directories you want to remove.

  2. Click Clear.
