Q.07: I have a domain name, but need an email solution. How can I get it?
If you have a website without an email service, or want to change your email service, all you have to do is:
1. Place your order for Rediffmail Pro by clicking here.
(Rediffmail Pro costs just Rs. 1,200 / year if you already have a domain name of your own)
2. Follow the step-by-step directions in the email you will receive from us.
These directions will show you how to change your MX record to point to mail.rediffmailpro.com on your existing DNS server.
If you do not have a website / email service hosted on your domain name, you can access the Rediffmail Pro DNS servers and begin using the email solution.
Your account will be activated within 24 to 48 hours after your payment is approved.
If you need help at any point, simply email us and our qualified staff will guide you through the entire process. |
Q.08: Can I receive mails from my other email accounts in my Rediffmail Pro account?
You can use Rediffmail Pro to read mail from your other POP accounts like VSNL, Yahoo, Hotmail. To read mail from your other accounts, you need to click on 'Preferences' and choose the 'Get other mail' option and follow the instructions. You can pull mails from up to 3 mail accounts. |

Q.13: How do I start using my Rediffmail Pro Account?
We activate your Rediffmail Pro Account as soon as we receive your payment.
Once your Account is activated, we will send your Rediffmail Pro Username and Password to your current email address. You can visit
http://www.rediffmailpro.com and log in with your Username and Password.
Once you are logged into your Rediffmail Pro Account, you can send and receive mails just like you would from any other email account. |
Q.14: How many email IDs can I get?
With Rediffmail Pro you get 5 email IDs as part of the basic package, for
Rs. 1,695 per year.
However, you can buy as many email IDs as you need in multiples of 5. You pay just Rs.1,200 per year for every 5 additional email IDs. This cost reduces with more email boxes that you purchase. |

Q.15:How do I use the 5 email IDs I get for Rs. 1,695?
At the time of placing your order, you will be asked to choose one email ID that will be used to manage your Rediffmail Pro account. This is called the administrator email account. (You could name it you@yourcompany.com, admin@yourcompany.com or any other name of your choice.)
Login to this account and click on the 'add addresses' link to create the other 4 email IDs. You can also allocate the 1 GB storage among these 5 Ids based on your needs. |
Q.16: Can I change my administrative email ID?
Yes, you can change the username of the administrative email address at anytime. All you need to do is create your desired ID and send us a mail from your administrative ID asking for the change. After we send you confirmation of the same, you may delete the unwanted ID if you so desire. |

Q.17:Can I change the other email ID's I have created?
Yes, you can change/delete the username's of any of your other email ID's.
Login using your administrative email ID. Click on 'preferences', go to 'add/delete addresses' to change/delete email ID you don't require any more. You can replace the deleted IDs with a new one, if you desire. |
Q.18: How much storage space do I get? Can I buy more storage space?
The Rediffmail Pro account offers 1 GB of storage space (for Rs. 1,695 per year).
Each individual address gets 200 MB of space by default. However this 1 GB can be re-allocated between the 5 email IDs based on your needs. |

Q.19: Can I filter the messages coming to my Inbox?
You have the option of pre-defining your mailbox so that all the mails containing a particular word or line will be automatically sent to a particular folder.
You can do this by clicking on 'Preference' and going to 'Message Filters'. Click on the 'Create new filters link' in order to create filters of your choice. This way, your inbox will remain uncluttered and you manage your emails better. |
Q.20: How do I manage my Rediffmail Pro account?
At the time of placing your order, you will be asked to choose one email ID that will be used to manage your Rediffmail Pro account. This is called the administrator email account. You could name it you@yourcompany.com or admin@yourcompany.com or any other name of your choice.
By logging in to the administrative email account you can manage all email ID's in your Rediffmail Pro account.

Update Account Details:
This option allows you to change your password, edit your display name or update your contact information.
Add / Delete Email IDs:
Clicking on this link allows you to administer all your email IDs. You are given 5 email IDs to begin with. You can buy more email IDs at any point of time.

Clicking on this link will enable you to purchase as many email IDs as you need for your company. 5 extra email IDs costs only Rs. 1000 per year.

Q.21: What is POP3?
POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) is the most recent version of e-mail software. It is a client/server protocol in which e-mail is received and held for you by your Internet server. Periodically, you (or your client e-mail receiver) check your mailbox on the server and download mail. POP3 is built into the Netmanage suite of Internet products and one of the most popular e-mail products. |
Q.22: Do I get POP3 facility with my Rediffmail Pro account?
Yes, we provide the POP3 facility with your email account. The instructions for setting up POP3 are given below.
In order to use an email software to send and receive messages through Rediffmail Pro, you must designate a new incoming (POP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server.
Here are the basic server settings for Rediffmail Pro:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.rediffmailpro.com
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.rediffmailpro.com
Email address: Your Rediffmail Pro Email Address
Password: Your Rediffmail Pro Password
Set up POP 3 for Outlook Express
Outlook Express allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Rediffmail Pro messages.
From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
Select the "Mail" tab.
Click the "Add" button.
From the Add menu, click "Mail."
In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
In the Email Address box, type your Rediffmail Pro address.
Select "POP3" to answer the question "My incoming mail server is a..."
In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, type "pop.rediffmailpro.com"
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type "smtp.rediffmailpro.com"
Click "Next."
In the Account Name box, type your Rediffmail Pro address
In the Password box, type your Rediffmail Pro Password.
If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure..."
Click "Next."
Click "Finish."
Set up POP 3 for Netscape Messenger
From the Edit menu on the toolbar, select "Preferences."
Under the Mail & Newsgroups category on the left, select "Mail Servers."
Click "Add" to display the Mail Server Properties dialog box.
In the Server name box, type "pop.rediffmailpro.com."
Under Server Type, click the pull-down list and select "POP3 Server."
Under User Name, type your Rediffmail Pro address.
Important: Please use a '+' sign instead of the '@' in the address.
Check "Remember password" so you don't have to re-enter your password each time you start Messenger. You'll be prompted for your password initially.
Select the "POP" tab and check the box labeled "Leave messages on server."
Click "OK."
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type "smtp.rediffmailpro.com"
In the Outgoing mail server user name box, type your Rediffmail Pro address.
Important: Please use a '+' sign instead of the '@' in the address.
Click "OK."
Under the Mail & Newsgroups category on the left, select "Identity."
In the Email Address box, type your Rediffmail Pro address
Click "OK."
Set up POP 3 for Eudora
Click on the Tools Menu and select "Personalities."
Right click in the "Personalities" box (on the left of the screen) and select "New."
The New Account Wizard will take you through the set-up.
Use the following settings:
Personality Name: Enter your name
Account Settings: Select "Create a new account."
Personal Information: Enter your name.
Email Address: Enter your Rediffmail Pro address.
Login Name: Enter your Rediffmail Pro address again.
Incoming Email Server: Type "pop.rediffmailpro.com"; (make sure that POP is selected at the bottom.)
Outgoing Email Server: Type "smtp.rediffmailpro.com"
Check the box next to "Allow authentication."
Click the "Finish" button when you are done.

Q.25: Does Rediff provide the username and password for me to manage my domain?
When you purchase Rediffmail Pro, you can use your username and password (provided by you at the time of sign up) to access your
Rediff Business Solutions account. Login to your
Rediff Business Solutions account from the Rediff Business Solutions home page. Once youve signed in you will be taken to your My Account page where you will have complete control over managing your domain. You can then forward, modify, add or delete your domain.
